Journey of the week

Day 1: 

Regular audit day conducted in Palembang. Another usual day of document checking ;-)

Day 2:

Started with road journey, 3 hours to reach the nearest port and then changed to speed boat. Do not imagine modern kind of speed boat like we see on television. This type of boat, although fast enough, is long and narrow. And the driver was very skillful considering how very wide and how very narrow the stream was.

When we got into the boat, it was already dark on some parts of the sky. I did not wish that the rain won't fall, I wish the other way instead. And yes, through the 2.5 hours boat ride we got 1 hour of heavy rain. It was fun (for me) and I enjoyed it a lot. Luckily I had my phone securely placed inside an underwater pouch so I got to take video and photos during the rain.. My pants did not survive the rain though but I had my spare one ready while I had it dried (naturally) when we got to the location.

The camp was very modest, elevated wooden housing which we called Rumah Panggung. I saw this one row consisting 3 stars (anyone remember the name?) and one beautiful bright moon... (So beautiful that I wished I had my DSLR with me to capture it)

Day 3:

We conducted the audit until noon and then we started to move to the next location after lunch time. A bit delayed by the heavy rain, however we cannot really wait for the rain to stop because otherwise it will be too late and we might collide with the bathing time of the elephants. The elephants use the canal that connects this location with the rest of the world, so if they got ahead of us in the canal then we have to wait until they finish their bath, which will be too late and too dark for the water journey.

Rain did not stay long and we went to the next location with another (same type) speed boat after being transported with other type of boat called "Ketek" to the end of the canal. This is the boat type that made very loud noise and we had to use proper earmuff during the ride.

Safely arrived at the next location. Beat tired. We got small rain during the journey but not as extreme as the day before. The soil was all wet, slippery and sticked on my shoes :D making my safety shoes heavier than they already were..

What did I got here? A sky full of stars. No moon but the stars are just marvelous. Its like being sprinkle to fill the sky. The last time I saw something like that was in Mount Bromo, last year...

Those are additional benefit of my audit work. Nature that is not available to see from where I live...

Wait, but don't ask about clean water supply here... We had brown water from the river for bathing :p I cannot imagine myself brushing my teeth with that water so I had to use the mineral waters from the bottles *grin* (not so adventurous, huh?)

Day 4:

Same schedule as the previous day, audit until noon and then we went back to the city. Another 2 hours by boat and 3-4 hours by car.

Hit the hotel. Had a bath tub and enjoyed the clean warm water :-)

You need to appreciate what you have and sometimes you do not realize that you are so lucky before you are faced with the worse condition....

Day 5:

It will be just another audit day at the office, closing meeting, and fly back to Jakarta...

I am beat tired now...

Kalau gini baru ngeh deh, masih ga punya jaket parasut aja dari dulu...

Padahal dulu pas kuliah pernah pengen banget karena ada teman yang pakai (sayangnya harganya fantastis untuk ukuran saya waktu itu :p)

I have never been formally learn any instrument through music class, so this is my first experience

And I enjoy learning to play it

When I travel, I might prefer to take this instrument (and my DSLR) instead of my laptop :p

Tumben, hari ini sakit kepalanya mulai di pagi hari... Dan tidak menghilang sampai sore ini :-)

Bukan sakit karena flu kalau yang ini

Tapi maag...

Jadi memang tumben, karena sudah lama sekali tidak merasakan maag yang langsung menusuk kepala...

Pas jemput sonshine di sekolahnya, ketemu dengan teman lama yang jg menjemput anaknya...

Sempat berdiskusi panjang lebar tentang bagaimana saat kita dipanggil Tuhan nantinya... Secara teori tentunya..

Sore ini... Bangun tidur siang dengan sonshine...

Ada berita duka cita dr alumni Swedia

Beliau yang meninggal ini masih cukup muda

Terakhir saya bertemu saat ada acara di rumah ibu Dubes (pertama kali bertemu lagi sejak dari Gothenburg)

Saat itu beliau masih sehat dan bersemangat sekali membangun negeri ini lewat generasi mudanya (beliau ini dosen UGM)

Ternyata beliau menderita kanker hati dan terdeteksinya terlambat... :'(

Saya dulu bukan pencinta kopi

Sampai sekarang pun saya mungkin lebih suka teh daripada kopi

Tapi saya mulai rutin minum cappucino sejak OB kantor lama saya rajin membuatkan (dan enak)

Sekarang sudah berganti kantor tapi saya masih suka minum kopi kadang2

Biasanya saat kantuk mulai menyerang (terutama saat sedang audit)

Padahal kopi itu tidak membuat saya tidak mengantuk sebenarnya :p sugesti saja lah... Atau kebiasaan kalau ngantuk minum kopi...

Dulu saat masih jadi sopir akap ke Solo sih saya minum coca cola kalau ngantuk :p

Anyway, dari begitu banyak jenis kopi yang saya minum (banyak karena banyak juga yang disediakan oleh klien, jadi ngga milih2), sepertinya saya mulai bisa membedakan... Kopi mana yang nantinya bikin maag saya kambuh dan mana yang aman.. Aromanya ternyata berbeda :-)

Semua karena kebiasaan..

Tapi ada hal2 yang memang tidak bisa dipelajari dari "cuma" kebiasaan ;-)

Energi

Entah kenapa pulang audit hari ini rasanya cape banget

Energinya seperti tersedot :-)

Awalnya terpikir karena memang jarak tempuh yg cukup jauh pulang pergi tadi

Tapi rasanya bukan karena itu

Agak lama baru terpikir...

Mungkin itu alasannya..

Pilar energinya ada yg bergerak menepi, istilah masa kininya "melipir"

I looooove it... And I love Toothless, the black dragon that's almost impossible to tame..

It's almost like loving Melan

Toothless and Melan both are considered vicious animals but both are so lovable, so loyal to the owner.. Dan manja bangeeettt... Manja dalam konsep yang cuma bisa dimengerti pemiliknya karena kalau orang yang tidak kenal Melan dan melihat dia menubruk saya atau menggandeng tangan saya dengan giginya, pasti akan shock.. *grin*

Sekarang ada Bumblebee, tapi dia tidak se-vicious Melan..

Somehow perhaps I have special interest to anything that looks vicious on the outside, but soft, tender and lovable on the inside..

Di sini lagi... Di bandara Sepinggan Balikpapan

Pesawat direschedule dari jam 6.30 ke jam 12.00

Buat saya itu anugerah... :-)

Pertama karena saya baru bisa tidur jam 3an (dan seharusnya jam 4 sudah siap2 ke bandara) dan kepala saya masih sakit (sampai sekarang sih walaupun membaik sedikit)

Kedua karena berarti baby boy bisa jemput ke bandara ;-) kalau pagi kan dia pasti belum bangun...

Dulu saya pernah delay 5 jam dari Bali (harusnya pesawat jam 13 jadi jam 18)

Blessingnya adalah karena saya jadi punya waktu lebih banyak setelah paginya diving di Benoa... Dulu saya belum tahu kalau setelah diving itu tidak boleh langsung naik pesawat karena perbedaan ketinggian yang ekstrem bisa menyebabkan kerusakan jaringan otak :-)

Sambil nunggu boarding, tadi saya mengamati bapak2 yang pegang kamera SLR dan iseng menjepret para penumpang yang sedang menunggu di sini :p

Kayaknya tadi lensa juga mengarah ke sini :D semoga hasilnya bagus ya pak ;-)

Yesterday's gift..

We woke up late on Saturday, my son woke me up.. I thought we can have a lazy day because I'm still tired after the business trip

But no...

I called the music course where I had signed up for him and they told me that the lesson start today! And that they had mistakenly wrote down my number so they couldn't reach me.. Rush!

So we went to the course and baby boy seemed to enjoy it although I had to stay in the classroom. 

Back at home, lunch time, I received a call from one of my closest friend from college. She got terminated from her work and she needed to talk to someone (it's an honour that she chose me). And then she asked certain phone number that I remember by heart because she doesn't have it in her phone. She said perhaps he knows some opprtunities.. (So, has she contacted you? :-) )

At gandaria, met many persons that I haven't had time to talk lately and we exchanged news. It was nice. Heart warming.. :-) 

During the ceremony, baby boy played with his cousins and did not cry at all (horray!)

I was grateful for yesterday and I'll be grateful for today ;-)

Cuplis harus mengarungi banjir dan yang bawa bukan saya tapi anak kantor 

Banjirnya hampir sejendela! *mimpi kok bikin deg2an*

Jadi Cuplis harus masuk ke jalan yang banjir itu dari atas bukit berbelok ke kiri karena dua jalan itu saling tegak lurus

Begitu masuk air, karena ngga boleh ngerem, jadi belok ke kirinya agak "ngepot" (apa istilahnya ya..) sehingga bagian belakangnya terayun ke kanan...hampir menabrak pembatas jalan

Saya duduk di belakang sopir dan 5 cm lagi bisa crash ikut dihantam pembatas jalan..

Saya bukan tipe yang mengartikan mimpi

Mimpi bagi saya cukup bunga tidur, yang artinya saya belum pasrah pada saat akan tidur

Hujan sore nih...

Ah hujan jam berapa pun kan saya suka

Kebetulan hujannya turun pas sedang singgah di rumah adik saya

Baby boy yang minta karena ingin main dengan sepupunya...

So it's raining with good company around

Setelah seharian mondar mandir ngurusin cuplis dan bersih2 ;-) this is quite nice, just sitting by the window and listening to the rain... and occasionally check some updates on the blog...

Grateful

Musti belajar lagi mensyukuri hal-hal kecil yang mungkin sempat terhalangi oleh hal besar yang ngga jelas..

Pagi ini aja udah banyak yang bisa disyukuri..

- Bangun pagi dibangunin baby boy dan dia ngga rewel.. (Ini pengaruh lho, hari dimulai dengan ceria tanpa ngomel)

- Ketemu bapak ibu sebentar di rumah dan semua sehat

- Di jalan mau ke bengkel, pas putaran U yang biasanya banyak polisi cepek, kali ini ada pak polisi muda dengan motornya. Begitu mobil mau putar balik langsung menstop mobil dari arah sana (makasih pak polisi, u've made me smile)

- Di bengkel, bumper yg lecet2 itu dijanjikan mau diurus langsung sama orang asuransi ini. Minggu depan mobilnya ditinggal aja katanya... 

- Baca2 tulisan di blog sebelah dan dari pagi udah bikin senyum :-) 

So let's be grateful for those little things..

Technical Test

2 hari yang lalu saya jadi ikut test-nya

Ternyata benar, test-nya adalah test Toefl dan kemampuan menulis teknis dalam bahasa inggris...

Topik essay-nya cukup sulit karena akhir2 ini memang tidak berkutat di area itu, jadi kurang terkini untuk info regulasi dan kebijakan

Katanya kalau lanjut, minggu depan akan dipanggil interview

Semoga berjodoh...

Karena minggu depan saya cuma ada di Jakarta hari senin saja :-)
